New location

Postby blodders » Mon Jul 12, 2010 7:20 pm

As some may be aware, we are moving home, to a completely new area, later this year. To that end I visited last week and took the opportunity to have a good nose around to see what foraging opportunities will be available.

I was quite pleased as I found, in no particular order; oranges, lemons, pomegranates, figs (loads of fig trees laden with fruit), olives, carob (good for horses and makes an ok chocolate substitute) and prickly pears.

All that lot was growing wild (or feral) within 500m of my new house. Quite pleased really. :D

Sounds a great place blodders. :D

I'm growing lemon, tangerine & oranges in Scotland, the lemons & oranges are both fruiting just now, none are growing wild here though.

Hello phobos, excuse the fainting smiley, but to celebrate your ninth post in three years I didn't know what else to do... :lol :lol

Hope you will exceed your tally soon, the compost bin needs topping up...

Some people may think that our preparation is a waste and that we are being alarmist, I can only say that these people are right-until they're wrong. And the consequences of them being wrong are greater than the consequences of us being wrong.
